My friend Crystal Andrus Morrisette asked this question on her Facebook page & recieved many responses:
"This is not to stress anyone out or sound like a (God forbid) "Bible thumper" but why are most of us on FB comfortable putting up posts by Buddha and the Dalai Lama (whom I deeply admire and respect) but we feel unsure / uncomfortable to post Jesus quotes or Moses quotes?? "
My response:
It's so unfortunate that these 2 amazing figures have not only been placed against each other in our societies, but words have been put in their mouths & lies have been told about how they lived, how they died & what they want for all of mankind... all human beings, regardless of their skin color & governments.
It's such a shame that if a person puts up a quote by Jesus or Moses, they get called a "religious freak" or some other extreme title. I once mentioned something about Jesus & I got a message from someone shaming me saying that I'm not being Jewish enough(I part Jewish). And once I mentioned something that Jesus said & I got so much praise & a follow up quote from a bible that said something about being Christian & going to heaven. People can be so dense & ignorant. It truly makes me wonder if my work & my life is really opening people's minds.
Moses, Jesus, Buddha--all of them, they're all best friends. They're all pals & they enjoy each other fully & they are each other. They are 1 & they love that. None of these elevated & all around loving beings are fighting or stressed out about who has the most followers & who has better teaching skills. None of these high-minded & loving leaders think ignorant low-minded thoughts like "I wonder if that guy has lead more people to hell or heaven."
Human beings need to learn how to calm down & listen & learn properly. To be so ignorant that you annoy others is truly a place to start when you're on the path to correcting specific character flaws that create problems for you & other people.
I mostly quote myself these days. At the very least, I know for a fact that I said it. I always hope that in being responsible for what I say, people will see my soul through my writing long after I've left the planet. But then again, Jesus & Moses hoped for the same for themselves & now look what has happened.
